Chevy has announced an all-new hatchback, aimed at younger drivers, set to arrive at dealerships next year, says Sarasota Chevy dealer, Cox Chevrolet.

Bradenton Chevy dealer, Cox Chevy has a lot to look forward to this fall.  All new 2011 models have been announced and are due at the dealership soon. An all-new hatchback has even been announced to the 2011 lineup of vehicles.

The 2011 Chevrolet Aveo will be produced as a hatchback as an addition to the competitive small car segment.  The European-inspired hatch will be available in the U.S. in 2011.

The 2011 Aveo will be available as both a sedan and hatchback.  The idea behind the hatchback is to appeal to younger consumers, as the car’s sportiness and interior space are the perfect combination for younger drivers.  The Aveo RS will be longer and wider than previous models, which gives it the interior space and cargo volume that puts it among the best in its class.  The inside of the Aveo features a new motorcycle-inspired instrument cluster and modern audio system with USB, auxiliary-in and Bluetooth functionality.

The exterior design is built to compete.  The dynamic design, including exposed twin-headlamps, Chevy’s signature dual port grille and lines make sure that the vehicle is as sporty as possible.

The Aveo RS show car made its debut at the 2010 North American International Auto Show earlier this year.

“The Aveo RS show car demonstrates how progressive design can inject personality into a small car,” said Michael Simcoe, executive director, North American Exterior Design. “We want customers to see it and have an emotional reaction to it.”

The show car was powered by the same highly efficient 138-horsepower 1.4L I-4 Ecotec turbocharged engine that will be available in the new Chevrolet Cruze later this year.  It premiered with a six-speed manual transmission designed to provide a spirited driving experience.

“We hope the Aveo RS show car will demonstrate that we are as serious about redefining the Aveo and its place in the small-car segment as we were about reinventing the Malibu,” said Jim Campbell, Chevrolet general manager.
