The Nissan LEAF polar bear begins in the icy Arctic, amidst the melting glaciers, looking as bummed as a child heading back to school. Soon he swims to shore to start his journey through forests, highways, train tracks, and bridges, crossing city and suburban landscapes, looking for someone that is trying to help his situation.

After days of searching, he shows up in a driveway, where the 2011 Nissan LEAF is parked and a man is heading to work. The man is obviously shocked to see a polar bear in his driveway and gets an even bigger shock when the polar bear stands up to hug and thank him. The man accepts, knowing that he is doing his part.

The 2011 Nissan Juke seats five with plenty of storage space and is offered in three trim levels: S, SV, and SL. The standard engine is a 180 hp 1.6L turbocharged four-cylinder with direct gasoline injection. Together with an advanced CVT or six-speed manual transmission the Juke is available with either front-wheel or all-wheel drive.

The six-speed manual is available only with the SV and SL front-wheel drive trims. Standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, cloth bucket seats, 60-40 fold-down rear seat, Bluetooth, and a six-speaker AM/FM/CD audio system. Safety features include six airbags, active front head restraints, vehicle dynamic control, and traction control. Available features include a navigation system, upgraded Rockford-Fosgate speakers, leather interior, power moonroof, and a new Integrated Control (I-CON) system with 3-mode automatic air conditioning.

Standard on the Juke SV and SL, Nissan’s slick I-CON interface/display readout located in the lower center dash area can be toggled between “Climate” and “D-mode” at the touch of a button, each accompanied by its own specific graphics. In the former, I-CON commands all heat/air functions while the latter lets the driver choose Normal/Sport/Eco settings that appropriately revise the electronic mapping for throttle response, transmission shifts and steering feel.

Intelligent AWD with Torque Vectoring

Available on all three Juke trim levels, Nissan’s Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system can create up to a 50/50 front/rear power split and also distribute torque from side to side on the rear axle to improve handling and reduce understeer when cornering.
